Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
